Lost from a boarding facility in Valley Center on January 4, 2021. Babs relentlessly tracked Penny for 34 days. Penny survived many predators, two of the largest winter storms in Vally Center history and a busy roadway. Babs never gave up hope, despite several weeks of no sightings.
On February 6, 2021 Babs was able to trap Penny with the help of several game cameras. Penny was reunited with her family. Although she lost half her body weight (all of which she has re-gained); she was in excellent health.
